The underground infrastructure field is one of constant progress and change. Not only trenchless technology but the whole range of technologies for installation, management, operation and maintenance of underground networks is evolving and improving. There is a constant flow of research and an equally constant flow of needs driving new developments. Jason Consultants is closely involved with this research and has been in the forefront of progress and of dissemination of new technologies in several influential areas of underground infrastructure engineering. We also investigate the applications and experience and perform forensic analysis where failure has occurred or performance has fallen short of expectations.

Our Investigation projects are focused on investigating the ways in which current and new trenchless technologies can solve new problems in different application areas, and in identifying the feasibility of their doing so successfully. We also investigate the impacts of underground infrastructure works, for example social and indirect costs, and how these can be mitigated by new non-disruptive technologies.

Forensic Analysis of failures or performance shortcomings is an essential element in our research work and in providing our Clients with a clear view of how materials or products need to be further developed in order to perform effectively in the field.

Technology Reviews provide Clients with an in-depth understanding of the worldwide state-of-the-art in specific fields of underground infrastructure, enabling them to benchmark their own performance or, if they are owners of infrastructure, to utilize leading-edge techniques to optimize the management and operation of their underground assets.

Technology Transfer projects enable infrastructure owners worldwide to benefit from developments elsewhere around the globe, assist technology providers in matching their customers’ needs with new techniques, and provide technology developers with opportunities to commercialize their innovations internationally.
