Jason Consultants has undertaken several general reviews of technology for industry bodies to disseminate to their members, for individual infrastructure owners, and for commercial companies either already in or intending to enter certain markets. These reviews, undertaken from a position of knowledge and practical experience of the application of technologies from our daily engineering activities, provide our clients with a clear view of the current state-of-the-art in a field, the capabilities and limitations of techniques, the benefits to users and customers, their cost-effectiveness, and the direction of future developments. Thus our clients can understand the technologies that could benefit them, and how they could begin to deploy them to maximum advantage.

Similarly benchmarking of performance and of the use of beneficial technologies can enable management to identify where changes can bring benefits. We have reviewed practice and the use of new technologies at acknowledged industry leaders across a broad spectrum of sectors in order to identify for our clients key performance indicators, their relative performance against these indicators, and thus to develop and implement programmes for raising their performance through the positive use of new techniques, many in the field of trenchless technology.

Many of these reviews are primarily communications programmes. The proliferation of new techniques in the installation and renovation of underground infrastructure in response to the ever-growing need is not well communicated internationally. Many more professional and well-managed infrastructure owners and operators require independent information and expert appraisal of technologies and specific vendors’ offerings so that they can make decisions from positions of real knowledge and are not disadvantages relative to the vendors that approach them and whose communication is narrowly commercially driven.
